Welcome! 

The participation of swimmer families is essential to the success of the Benicia Stingrays Swim Team!  It takes 65+ people to run each swim meet.  Don’t feel intimidated to volunteer just because you are new to the team - it’s a fun way to get to know other families and to learn how the team functions.

30 Point Requirement
Each family of 4-14 year olds (as of June 15) is required to complete 30 volunteer points.  It is up to you to pursue the jobs and credits you need. If you have 2 or more children swimming with the Stingrays, the family requirement is still 30 points. Families who only have swimmers 15-18 years old (as of June 15) are not required to complete volunteer points. 

If you do not want to complete the 30 volunteer points, you may "Buy Out" your units for $300.  

Job Sign-Ups: April 13- May 25, 2012
Sign-ups will be available on April 15 (If you attend the Welcome Back Fiesta, you get priority sign-ups starting April 13th ).  
Families who fail to sign up for all 30 points by May 12 will have 3 options: (1) let the volunteer coordinators sign you up for your remaining points (2) pay $300 buy-out (3) quit the team by June 1st and get 50% of your registration fees back.

Penalties for missing a volunteer job
If you, a family representative, or your substitute misses a volunteer job without locating a suitable replacement, $50 will be taken from your $100 work deposit and you will receive an email notice.  If your family misses a second volunteer job, you will lose the remaining $50 from your deposit.  Swimmers will be restricted from practices and meets until a new $100 deposit is paid.

Swap with another family, ask a friend or family member to help you out, or pay a teenager on our Substitute list to work for you.
