Swimsuits

A team swimsuit is not a requirement, but encouraged.  Girls wear a one-piece swim suit and boys wear jammers (similar to bike shorts). 

We encourage everyone to have and wear a team suit at all of our swim meets.  Wearing a team suit helps promote team spirit and unity.  Please do not wear the team suit to practice as it is to be worn only at meets and the team picture. Instead, wear a one piece swim suit (girls) or swim trunks (boys) to practice.

Sizing kits will be available at the Welcome Fiesta Dinner on Friday, April12th and at Time Trials, Saturday, June 1st.

CARE: Lycra suits will last a long time if properly cared for.  Immediately after each use, rinse in cold water and hang to dry.  Never wash in detergent, even Woolite, or place in the dryer.

Caps

Swim caps, although not required, are a good idea.  A swim cap keeps your hair out of your face and provides great water run off during races.   It is recommended that you put your swimmer’s name on the inside of the cap with an appropriate waterproof marker. 

TEAM CAPS: Wearing a Stingrays team cap helps promote team spirit and unity, but is not required.  We will place 2 orders for silicone Stingrays logo swim caps:  1. at the Welcome Back Fiesta,  2. at Time Trials

Parkas

Parkas help keep swimmers warm!  Some children also wear robes to stay warm after practice - these can be hard to find in the summer, so buy while the weather's still cool.

CUSTOM BSR PARKAS can be ordered from NorCal swim shop in Walnut Creek at 925-933-7946.  Call and ask to order a parka for the Benicia Stingrays.  Custom orders take 8 weeks, so call ASAP.

Spirit Wear

Goggles

Wearing goggles is a good idea to protect the eyes from the chlorine and other irritants.  We will have a few googles for purchase at the Fiesta Dinner.   

Fins

Some swimmers will be required to wear fins at practice.
